Hurts, the duo formed by Adam Anderson and Theo Hutchcraft has been voted band of the summer by NME.com users - beating the likes of My Chemical Romance, Pulp, Kasabian and Muse.

The band, formed when both members were unemployed, were also voted Best Band of Glastonbury 2011 by NME.COM users. 

Users were asked to rate a list of bands out of 10, with Hurts receiving an average of 8.93, 0.2 above nearest rivals Kaiser Chiefs. The Killers came in third, followed by Muse, Brandon Flowers and My Chemical Romance, who scored an average of 6.95 despite well-received sets at Leeds and Reading Festival in August.

Hurts are currently gearing up for a European tour dates in October, followed by three shows in the UK beginning in Brighton on November 2.
