A few weeks ago, on January 30– almost a year to the day since announcing that The White Stripes– the blues-drenched rock duo that thrust he and Meg White into the national limelight– would no longer be releasing new material, Jack White dropped his first solo song entitled “Love Interruption.” This spare, acoustic-driven rumination on the pains and hurt associated with love, was also revealed to be the first single from White’s debut solo album Blunderbuss, which is scheduled to be released on April 23, 2012 via White’s own Third Man Records.

Now, fittingly, on Valentine’s Day, we are given the music video for this love-centric jam. And like the song, it’s also quite simplistic in nature: accompanied by Emily Bowland on bass clarinet, Brooke Waggoner on electric piano and Ruby Amanfu on back-up vocals, White, who also directed the video and will headline the Sasquatch Festival in May, slinks his way through this little ditty as he strums away in front of a velvety-blue backdrop. Check out Jack White’s video for “Love Interruption” below.

The song itself is available in a variety of formats via Thrid Man’s website. In addition to a digital copy, fans can also pick it up in a limited edition Tri-color vinyl 45.
