. Here’s how you get fans stoked for a new album these days: Release an album trailer that features epic instrumental music, pensively looking musicians and flashy titles that says things like “FALL 2012.” After Muse released a trailer for their upcoming new disc yesterday, The Killers have now followed it up with one of their own. Which means that, yes, there is a new Killers album in your future.
. The album, which will be titled Battleborn, is expected out in the fall, although no specific release date has been set. Frontman Brandon Flowers, who looks particularly pensive in this trailer, has said of the title, “In a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better.” Which may or may not tell you something about what to expect from the new album.
. In the dramatic trailer, the band stands around looking serious while the camera pans over their fans. There is a fire and a sunset and some very ’80s-looking titles revealing the disc’s name and potential release date. The music, like we mentioned is epic and also pretty ’80s, offering on a slight indication about Battleborn will sound like. Check it out for yourself below:
.
. So far not much is known about the disc, but we can tell you that it will feature production by Steven Lillywhite (U2), Brendan O’Brien (Flowers’ solo disc Flamingo) and Stuart Price, who produced the group’s 2008 album Day & Age. Songs include “Heart Of A Girl,” “Flesh And Bone,” “Carry Me Home” and “Runaways.” Flowers previously told Q Magazine of the sound on Battleborn, “It’s still eclectic, I’ve not thrown the keyboards away. But it’s definitely heavier.”
