CMA Fest- Still Fan Fair Just Not As Much Fair

Share
- Even though it’s bigger, and even though the process is changed…CMA Fest is still Fan Fair. This year, CMA changed-up the autograph process for Fan Fair Hall. All done online, fans could apply for meet and greets then a lottery system decided who got to meet their favorite stars and who didn’t. For many, this was a dream come true. It gave those who weren’t able of willing to camp-out on the sidewalk a chance to meet their favorite artists. I mean, I’m not less of a fan because I’m not willing to camp out on the sidewalk with my two small children. For others though, the process took away everything they love about CMA Fest. They are making memories with their friends camping out on the cement then making the mad dash in hopes of snagging a spot in line. There are mixed feelings about the new process. For many, they snagged their first ever meet and greets… and they couldn’t be happier. For others who didn’t get any for the first time in years, they’re angry and not sure if the trip to Nashville is worth it anymore. However, no matter what fans think of the new process, the stars were still out and about doing their part to give just a little bit back to their fans. Nearly every artist who performed at Riverfront park signed and snapped photos with fans after their set. There were also random signings throughout Nashville at various booths. The new HGTV Lodge hosted several meet and greets including Luke Bryan, who took his pen outside after his time slot ran out and signed for fans who didn’t make the cut. The shows were full of thanks from the artists to their fans. Fans sported signs and merchandise to show their love for their favorites. So, the “fair” may have been taken down several notches, but the fans are still the top priority to the artists who come to share their gratitude.
