Rock of Ages is more than just a celebration of hilariously bad haircuts; it’s a trip down memory lane that revisits some of the greatest hits of the 1980s Los Angeles Sunset Strip-era. We recently sat down with Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Mary J. Blige, Malin Ackerman, and director Adam Shankman to talk about all things 80s. Naturally, any conversation about the 80s will focus on the hair and the music, but we learned a few other tidbits about their time shooting as well, including Tom Cruise’s talents as a basketball player, Russell Brand’s weird nickname for peanuts, and the baboon outbreak that occurred on set.
