Azealia Banks May Be Over Hip-Hop, But Her Upcoming Album Isn’t
.
Remember earlier this week when out of nowhere Azealia Banks deleted her Twitter account and claimed she would focus on being a “vocalist” instead of a rapper? Well, things have gotten even more confusing because now in an interview given just days before this proclamation she talks about how much hip-hop will be on her next album Fantasea. .
In an interview with MTV News Banks said of the mixtape which will come out in July, “It’s gonna be hip-hop, there’s a lot of hip-hop on it. I have a track with Styles P on there, which I’m really excited about because Styles killed it, killed it, killed it.” Uh, that ort of sounds like rap to us, Azealia.
.
She went on to explain, “It’s so New York and it’s so raw and it’s so just … everything that needs to be said,”I’m that rap girl who’s out here and doesn’t have another rapper behind her, but she’s got all this mouth and she’s all over the place. So [this collaboration] was cool for me [because I'm like] ‘What ya’ll gonna say now, when I bust out with that Styles P record?’”
.
So apparently despite the fact that Banks will quit rapping there will still be some hip-hop on Fantasea… and we also think it’s possible that she could totally change her mind again and be back to rap by the time you finish reading this article. In the meantime, check out some always dependable Azealia Banks Radio.
