Top 10 Best and Worst Dressed of the Week

I often like the majority of the looks I dig up for the week’s top 10. That’s not the case today, however. I had a hard time this week picking out any photos that made my inner fashionista twirl with joy, so I’ll start with the few I was able to locate and work my way up to the many disappointments overwhelming this week’s list. Here goes…
Let’s start with Selena Gomez in this photoshoot for Elle Magazine. Though many were dismayed by the sexy nature of these photos, I absolutely love them! She looks incredible, and she’s 20-years-old, for crying out loud. Before long, we’ll be telling her she’s too old to wear certain things, so enough already with all of the hullabaloo about her being too young. She looks amazing.

Another young actress who scored high marks from me this week is Julianne Hough. Here she is at the LA premiere of Rock of Ages, looking classy but also age-appropriate in this bright yellow dress. I also love the makeup and hair — the entire look is pitch-perfect for a summer premiere.

Although I don’t actually like the outfits worn by Josh Duhamel & Fergie here (at the same premiere), I’m still counting them amongst my best dressed simply because I love that they decided not to take themselves too seriously (although I’m still not still not sure if Fergie is in costume or not…).

That it’s for the looks I like this week, so let’s get on with the rest now, shall we? Here’s Katy Perry at a City of Hope event in New York City. A lot of bloggers out there have been gaga over this outfit, but I think she looks ridiculous. This isn’t Halloween, so I’m not sure why she decided to show up in costume. I also just don’t think the dress is flattering on her. What do you think?

Bloggers have also been drooling over this cover shot of Freida Pinto for Flaunt Magazine, but I am not at all a fan of the wig. I get what they were going for, but I don’t know why they would actively try to make such a beautiful girl look unattractive! I’m not feeling it.

Returning now to the Rock of Ages red carpet, where I found Malin Ackerman double-offending this week in first this dress for the film’s European premiere…

…and then this one for the LA premiere. In regards to the former look, I think the styling is pretty perfect, it’s just that I don’t at all like the dress. Honestly, it looks like a dance costume, no?  Meanwhile, the dress pictured below really gave me an opportunity to roll my eyes. We get it, you’re hot. So was Angelina Jolie when she did this very same dress sans cutouts during awards season. Starved for attention much???

Julianne Hough, who is definitely not starved for attention these days, chose to address her many fans in this silly little getup at the European premiere of Rock of Ages. Now, this is an ok dress, and one that I would probably wear to an engagement party or something of the like in a heartbeat  However, it doesn’t work on the red carpet, and I especially don’t like it with the headband.

From one blonde to another, and then another … I get that this is a rock & roll movie, and that Ashley Tisdale tried to dress accordingly. However, this dress belongs up in the club, not on a red carpet! She’s definitely channeling Ke$ha here, and I don’t like it.

Let’s close things out with my least favorite look of the week. Catherine Zeta-Jones is an undeniably gorgeous woman, but she needs to fire her stylist ASAP. This dress is ugly on its own, but it’s also unflattering on Catherine, which is kind of an amazing accomplishment given how stunning she is! Meanwhile, don’t even get me started on those shoes…
