New York based promoter / producer / hustler Larry Tee has signalled his return with a new video. Much derided, electroclash was actually pretty fun at the time. An explosion of retro camp and outrageous fashion, it tied in pretty well with the post-Millennial boom and the growing nostalgia for the unremembered 80s. New York promoter Larry Tee sat at the centre of the (in reality fairly fictionalised) scene. A born hustler, his media savvy and outrageous persona managed to make the looseknit collection of club nights and producers into broadsheet copy. Well, now he's back. Larry Tee is signed to Ultra, with new single 'Charlie' due for release on June 25th. The track comes equipped with remixes from Gooseflesh, Attack Attack Attack, Alex Preston and more. Check out the video below. - - - Important point - electroclash has long been held as one of dance music's first 'meta' scenes, re-cycling ideas from the past. Packed to the brim with references and cover versions, the era's camp wit is in evidence on the new video. Check out those dogs in the new video, named Chihuahua Del Rey, Lady Daga and Stinky Minaj. 'Charlie' is due to be released on June 25th.
