Metronony For 'Late Night Tales'
Metronomy producer Joe Mount is set to curate the latest instalment of Late Night Tales. DJ mixes are ten-a-penny these days, but Late Night Tales still sticks out due to its wilful idiosyncrasies. The series has a simple precept, but its disparate array of curators manage to come up with something distinct each and every time. The latest instalment comes from Metronomy and promises to be something special. Joe Mount will handle the mix, with the producer allowing his tastes to run wild. Opening with OutKast, the mix also includes avant electronics from Autechre and prog oddballs Tontoβs Expanding Head Band. There's a slice of folk from Kate & Anna McGarrigle, while French indie pairing Herman Dune are also present. A curious and diverse mix, Joe Mount also includes a new cover version. Metronomy have recorded a fresh rendition of 'Hypnose' by Jean Michel Jarre, which will be interesting if nothing else. As per usual, the mix is rounded off by a spoken word piece from Paul Morley. 'Lost For Words Pt.4' finishes off the compilation, and ties it together with recent instalments from Late Night Tales. Here's a minimix crated by Joe Mount. 'Late Night Tales - Metronomy' will be released on September 3rd. Tracklisting: 1. OutKast β Prototype
