Efterklang Complete New Album
Efterklang are set to release their new studio album 'Piramida' through 4AD on September 24th. Efterklang like to take risks. Artistically, the Danish collective are known for tremendous forward leaps, fusing epic, emotional songwriting with a near classical sensibility. But for their new album Efterklang risked life and limb. The band made an expedition to an abandoned Russian settlement in Spitsbergen, an Arctic island located a few kilometres from the North Pole. Named Piramida, the town was abandoned overnight in the 90s and has since been left to slowly decay. Recording samples of the environment, Efterklang returned with over 1000 snippets of sound which they began to filter through their new album. Titled in honour of that fateful Russian town, 'Piramida' will be released on September 24th. 4AD will once again handle the release, maintaining their relationship with the groundbreaking Danish collective.
