Squarepusher One Off Live Show
Squarepusher has outlined plans for a one off live show at the Hackney Empire on October 20th. 'Pure electronics' - two words that haunted Tom Jenkinson. Shifting away from his bass experiments, Squarepusher decided to bin all his live instruments and work from a purely electronic viewpoint. The result was 'Ufabulum'. Hailed by many as his finest work in almost a decade, the album saw Squarepusher work from a unique vantage point. "In a very loose way, what I was trying to say is that this is music which doesn’t contain any live performance as such" Jenkinson told ClashMusic recently. "It’s music which is generated purely from programming. There’s no live guitar or drums, there’s nothing in it which is live, really. At all”. Oddly, 'Ufabulum' comes equipped with a fantastic live show. Squarepusher has constructed a series of visuals to tie into the music, with the whole thing coming together in a unique blend of ground-breaking audio and film.
