Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi fighting against cancer

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with cancer. The confirmation comes from the American band's official Facebook page. Iommi is fighting against the early stages of a lymphoma.

The official statement by the group says: "With the news that Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma, his bandmates would like everyone to send positive vibes to the guitarist at this time. Iommi is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan. The Iron Man of Rock & Roll remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery".

Tony Iommi, 63 years old, is currently working on the Black Sabbath's new studio album. It's still not certain if the band will begin or not her scheduled European tour next summer, the first with the return of the original formation featuring the singer Ozzy Osbourne.
