Hulk Hogan: "I almost joined Metallica"

Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan revealed he almost joined Metallica in an early incarnation of the band, at the beginning of the Eighties.

Hogan told The Sun: "I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler. I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn't work out".

It seems that Hulk's dream is to become a rockstar, since it's easy to find (even online) similar declarations of Mr Hogan about other bands; a few years ago he told he tried to become the bass player for the Rolling Stones, for instance. And he also reported another story about Metallica when, in 2009, he told the Chicago Tribune: "When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for  Metallica".
