Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher bury the hatchet

Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher bury the hatchet

For the history of Britpop this is gesture that might have a great symbolic importance. At the 2012 Brit Awards' backstage, Blur's leader Damon Albarn and ex-Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher have shared a hug and drank together.

So, the two Britpop heroes have finally buried the hatchet after years and years of battles. The peak of their mutual rivalry was reached when Mr.Gallagher in a 1995 interview with magazine The Observer wished for Damon Albarn and Alex James to "Catch AIDS and die".

Now, after all these years, everything's changed. "It's funny to think Blur were last here 17 years ago when we were big rivals," Damon told the Evening Standard. "Isn't it funny how we've both mellowed after all these years? We've buried the hatchet".

Noel, by his side, has told to NME that he would like to collaborate with Mr.Albarn, expressing his appreciation for the music of Blur and Gorillaz.

"It was quite a moment," commented Gallagher. "We haven't been in the same room for maybe 10 or 15 years", Noel commented about the meeting with Damon.
