Adam Yauch honoured by New York State senate

The State of New York has honoured the late Beastie Boy, passing a resolution "mourning the death of famed rapper and activist Adam 'MCA' Yauch", and writing that the musician "exemplified New York", also praising his actvism outside of music an describing him as "a man of colossal talent and charisma".

The resolution was debatate in the State Senate on Tuesday, may 15.

The Beastie Boys' rapper grew up and lived in New York. He passed away on may 4 at the age of 47, after a three-years long struggle with cancer. Earlier in 2012 his band was inducted in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, but his failing conditions prevented him to attend to the ceremony.
