Midem 2014 dates changed to early February due to Grammys clash
Reed Midem has pre-emptively changed by a week the dates of the 2014 edition of its music industry event to the 1st-4th of February in order to avoid a likely clash with the Grammy Awards ceremony. Bruno Crolot, Midem Director, commented, “We didn’t want to take the risk of overlapping with the Grammy Awards as many of our clients attend this important music industry event.”

Of course it is pretty rare for an event like Midem to move dates but as this is happening 8 months in advance it’s unlikely to be that big of an inconvenience to most attendees. The event usually sees a healthy delegation of high-profile US music industry representatives making their way to Cannes for three days of intense networking and it would have been a blow to lose some its most influential delegates due to the clash.

Another potential plus of the date move is that it leaves a two-week gap between Midem and Eurosonic in The Netherlands (15th-18th Jan), potentially allowing a greater number of people to attend both events.
