Bandsintown hits the 10 million users milestone

Bandsintown, a platform providing fans with relevant information on upcoming concerts in their respective cities, has just announced reaching 10 million users.

That’s a big number and signals a strong growth for the company having doubled in just a year - it had 4.9 million users as of March 2013.

Announcing the milestone with an infographic, the company revealed that Eminem, Linkin Park, Katy Perry, Coldplay and Adele are the most tracked artists on the platform.

New York, London LA and Chicago are the cities with the highest concentration of users. In New York alone the company listed 34k events during 2013, double the number of events it listed in 2010.

Bandsintown’s recent growth is closely related to the launch of its mobile applications - the iOS version released in December 2011 and the Android version in April 2012 - which allowed the company to broaden its base and stay in touch with users on a daily basis.

The company is owned by Cellfish, a global publisher of music, sports and entertainment apps.
