UK indie distributor Proper Music embarks on major restructuring

As part of a significant restructuring to boost business, independent distributor Proper Music Distribution, a subsidiary of UK-based Proper Music Group, has promoted a number of senior staff to the posts of heads of department.

Carol Zuma, previously financial controller, is now head of finance; Erica Day, formerly stock control manager, has become head of inventory and logistics, while Esther Tewkesbury, who was general manager of product & marketing, has been appointed head of product and marketing.

They will work alongside head of technical services Aaron Black and report to Proper Music Group’s managing director Drew Hill, who is also acting head of sales). As part of the management board, they report directly to the board of directors.

Additionally, Gray Warner, previously a label manager at Parlophone’s Label Services division, is Proper Music Distribution’s label manager.

Hill says: “Our recent restructure puts us in a stronger position than ever, and I’m pleased to have Carol, Erica and Esther in these new senior positions alongside Aaron. Likewise, I’m sure Gray’s experience at Parlophone and Warner will be of significant benefit to us going forward.”
