Coldplay’s Ghost Stories now on Beats Music

Coldplay had so far chosen to keep their latest album Ghost Stories from being available in full on streaming services, Spotify for example only has four tracks available.

In the past few hours though the album has become available in full on Beats Music in the United States.

This seems to be at least momentarily an exclusive for Beats: just a few hours ago it was announced that Coldplay will take part in a special Beats Music and CBS Radio-backed concert at the Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles which will take place tomorrow, the 17th of August. CBS Radio gets to stream the live concert and presumably Beats Music got to stream the album.

Some of the world’s biggest acts are still practicing “windowing”, which means that in order to maximise sales they withhold their new albums from streaming services forcing fans to buy them (or - a-hem - pirate them).

It will be interesting to see how long this exclusive will be and whether Ghost Stories will hit other streaming services around the world in the coming weeks.
