Kate Bush: no photos at the upcoming concerts please

Kate Bush posted an update on her website to thank fans for their birthday wishes and announce that she would prefer if they did not take photos during her upcoming string of concerts which are her first long-form stage appearances in 30 years.

The message reads:
“We have purposefully chosen an intimate theatre setting rather than a large venue or stadium. It would mean a great deal to me if you would please refrain from taking photos or filming during the shows. I very much want to have contact with you as an audience, not with iphones, ipads or cameras. I know it's a lot to ask but it would allow us to all share in the experience together.”

It’s going to be interesting to see whether this will be a strictly-enforced policy (like at Prince’s gigs) at the venue or simply a polite request. Given that Kate Bush has not been seen live by the vast majority of the fans attending it is going to be hard for them to resist taking a picture of her and strict enforcement could be detrimental to the enjoyment of the concert by most fans.

Rockol will be attending Kate Bush’s opening night next Tuesday.
