McDonald’s looking to engage its customers through a digital music offering?

McDonald’s may be looking into setting up a new customer engagement programs that involves digital music, according to a report by CNBC that has looked into the corporations’ latest job postings.

The company is looking for a product director for music an entertainment and the posting states that the role would involve drawing up a strategy “for a variety of digital music and entertainment experiences” provided by McDonald’s to its customers.

The position would also involve establishing multi-channel music and emerging entertainment programs to reward the chain’s most enthusiastic consumers, with the aim to drive them to visit the stores more frequently.

It is interesting to see how McDonalds, having experienced a slowdown in sales in the United States especially, is turning to digital entertainment offerings to re-engage its consumers.

On that front it may want to take a page out of Starbucks’ book, since the Seattle-based company has always been on the ball when it comes to the adoption of new digital technologies that may make the life of its customers easier.

Meanwhile, get ready to answer the question: “Would you like a playlist on the side?” when ordering your next McDonald’s burger…
