Spotify updates Windows Phone app with free shuffle mode

The free shuffle mode may sound like old news to iOS and Android users of Spotify since company announced the feature back in December 2013.

This was the first time that Spotify allowed users some access to its catalogue on mobile devices.

Some nine months later though the company has finally brought this feature to users of Windows phones who can now enjoy the same functionality. Spotify announced this via a blog post supplemented with a picture reading "We didn't forget about you".

The company is yet to release any stats around the usage of the shuffle feature on mobile devices, but recently announced reaching over 10 million paying users worldwide, a significant milestone for a music streaming offering.

As part of the app update Windows users will also gain access to an improved search result design and to more music discovery options.
