UK giant shopping mall Westfield introduces live Music Cube

Two of Europe’s biggest urban shopping malls are to feature a new live-music experience in London called Music Cube.

Based at Westfield London (located in the west side of the capital) and Westfield Stratford City (in east London), Music Cube will see selected artists perform live for 30 minutes each inside a specially created sound-proof glass cube-shaped cubicle.

To hear the performances, the viewing spectators will have access to specially supplied Sennheiser Urbanite headphones. A “sensory-vibrating” floor will also enable them to feel the bass sounds directly.

The first gigs, booked under the Westfield Presents… brand name, take place 24-26 October at Westfield London and 31 October to 2 November at Westfield Stratford City. They will feature a mixture of major-label and independent acts.

MNEK, the Grammy-nominated UK singer-songwriter, is the first confirmed artist, who will play at Westfield London on 25 October.

The performances will be streamed online on digital channels operated by Westfield and Kiss FM music radio service, Music Cube’s media partner.
