Paul McCartney raps to support vegetarianism and climate change

Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is rapping in the name of vegetarianism and climate change.

As part of a call to action for meat-free Mondays, a global campaign encouraging people to pledge to become vegetarian for one day every week, he sings on a YouTube video and ends the song with a rap.

McCartney hopes to collect as many pledges as possible to send to politicians just before the United Nations’ Climate Summit in New York on Tuesday. This is because excessive meat and livestock productions are said to contribute to global warming.

Supporters can sign up by logging on to pledge.meatfreemondays.com. More than 800,000 people, including celebrities Kevin Spacey and Gwyneth Paltrow, have signed up.

McCartney and his two daughters Stella and Mary also front the Meat Free Monday website.
