Enrique Iglesias among glitterati at MTV’s 2014 European awards bash

Enrique Iglesias, one of the world’s hottest singing stars, producer and actor, has disclosed via social media he is taking part in this year’s MTV EMA Awards in Glasgow, Scotland, on 9 November.

Iglesias will perform at the SSE Hydro venue and collect his gong for the Best Spanish Act. He will also be there as a nominee for Best Stage Act and, possibly, Best Worldwide Act.

He embarks on the European leg of his Sex and Love global tour after the awards ceremony.

Additionally, MTV EMA 2014 will launch the new Best Song with a Message category, which invites its young fans to vote via Instagram, Vine and Twitter for the song they feel “inspires them to have a social conscience”.

Among the artists whose songs are being considered for that award are Alicia Keys, Arcade Fire, Beyoncé, Meghan Trainor and Hozier.

The event, taking place in Glasgow for the first time, will be broadcast globally via MTV’s TV and digital-media networks. Nicki Minaj is the host.
