Genesis’ Mike Rutherford fronts new reality-TV battle-of-the-bands

Legendary Genesis member Mike Rutherford is spearheading a team of international artists who have agreed to be the judges for Birth of a Band, a new weekly reality multi-platform (from TV to online) series.

Created by international production company Nemo Planet Inc and distributed by Canada-based Peace Point Rights, the show invites contestants worldwide to submit applications, audition and perform in six vocal/instrumental categories on TV and online.

From the thousands of hopefuls who apply, Rutherford and the other judges will select not only the talented, but also mix and match individuals to form competing bands.

The auditions and selection process, including online voting, will take place on air on linear TV and streamed video.

Audiences will be able to watch finalists living and working together 24/7. The judges will act as mentors by offering advice and sharing their experiences with the winners of the different competition rounds.

The two finalists will fight it out for the big prize, which will include performing with big-name acts, including the stars among the judging panel, at a major event.
