Music Gateway launches Private Network, a project management tool for creatives

Music Gateway, an online marketplace for hiring and collaborating with music industry professionals, has launched a new service called “Private Network” which is briefly described as “An ultimate network & project management tool like no other”.

Private Network is built specifically for the creative industries to include traditional players, like publishers and record labels, as well as game developers and artist development agencies.

The idea is to provide users with a network where they can find their existing clients and communicate with them on a day-to-day basis but also a place where they can find new collaborators should the need arise.

The project management side is at the core of Private Network, and presumably why the project sees high-profile players such as Island Records and Notting Hill Publishing as its first clients.

On the site, a quote from Dave Lambert from Island Records UK states: “Tracking the progress of these projects and the individual process are essential, and managing my network as a whole is top priority. With Music Gateway I have my own closed network that I control, so I can make this happen in a much more effective way, saving myself heaps of time.”

Private Network sounds great in theory, but the trick and the most difficult part with this kind of service is to get the ball rolling. A lot of people have their own project management processes/tools in place and Music Gateway is going to have to convince them that their solution is better and warrants migrating over to a new system.
