Marilyn Manson shares new track 'Deep Six' - listen

The new album by Marilyn Manson - "The Pale emperor" - is set to be out on January 20. In the meantime the band led by Brian Hugh Warner shared a new track in advance: it's called "Deep six" and it's a real dance-floor metal banger, with a four-on-the-floor disco beat and that trademark goth/alt metal guitar sound - with a distinct post-punk feel.

The new album incorporates some elements of blues and post-punk/wave, something that had never surfaced in the band's previous releases. Manson himself explained this new musical mood citing a scene from the movie "Twin Peaks": "[It's] the overall vibe of the scene, when they're in the Pink Room and Laura Palmer and her friend are getting oral sex from someone and there's a band playing in the background that's sort of like the Cramps". Then he added, talking about the blues: "What I hadn't ever found, 'til now, is the blues. The blues changed the way that I sang. And the music has a melody and a language in and of itself".

Marilyn Manson will hit the road on the "Hell Not Hallelujah Tour" on January 21.
