Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2015: Green Day, Joan Jett, Lou Reed and more

Veteran pop punkers Green Day will be inducted in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame 2015, in their first year of eligibility. They are joined by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Bill Withers, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Lou Reed - who will all be inducted during the event taking place on April 18 at Cleveland's Public Hall.

Among those who didn't make it, but were in the final ballot, thwre are big names such as The Smiths, Nine Inch Nails, Kraftwerk, N.W.A, Sting and Chic.
The acts to be inducted were voted by a body of more than 700 artists, historians and members of the music industry. To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

During the ceremony, Ringo Starr will be honoured with the Award for Musical Excellence; the "5" Royales will receive the Early Influence Award.
