Michael Stipe plays first solo gig since R.E.M.’s breakup

R.E.M. broke up in 2011 and, since then, Michael Stipe stayed pretty low key and performed only sporadically . But finally, on December 29, the singer took a stage in New York, to play an unannounced solo gig supporting Patti Smith at Webster Hall.
He performed a six-song set including two numbers by his legendary band and four covers - among which the theme song from "New York, New York".

Here is the complete setlist:
1. “Lucinda Williams” (Vic Chesnutt)
2. “Theme From ‘New York, New York’”
3. “Wing” (Patti Smith)
4. “Saturn Return” (R.E.M.)
5. “Hood” (Perfume Genius)
6. “New Test Leper” (R.E.M.)
