Calvin Harris signs three-year Las Vegas residency with Hakkasan Group

Calvin Harris has signed a three-year deal with the Hakkasan Group that will see him perform at Las Vegas venues such as the MGM Grand Hotel, the Hakkasan Nightclub and the upcoming Omnia Nightclub at Caesars Palace.

Harris was the world’s highest-paid DJ in 2014 earning $66m and the deal with Hakkasan could easily allow him consolidate that position for the next three years although financial terms were not disclosed.

The Hakkasan Group combines entertainment, dining, nightlife, and hospitality services and manages venues the United States, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.

Las Vegas has become the EDM capital of the world in recent years with famous DJs taking up residencies in the city’s hottest nightclubs and revellers flying in from all over the world.

The trend has been criticised in some corners of the EDM community as being overly commercial and not sustainable in the long term.
