Sony/ATV boosts Johnny Tennander’s A&R stronghold in Scandinavia

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has promoted Johnny Tennander to the newly created role of deputy managing director of the company’s Scandinavian subsidiary in Stockholm.

Among his signings there are DJ/songwriter/recording artist Avicii, whose global hits include Wake Me Up. Other acts signed by Tennander are singer-songwriter Lykke Li; Swedish indie group Peter Bjorn and John; Noonie Bao (who co-wrote Avicii’s UK No.1 single I Could Be The One and Charli XCX’s new single Doing It). He has also worked with Astma & Rocwell, the producers who own music-production company Tilt Songs.

Sventelius says: “We have a strong focus on growth at Sony/ATV and this promotion will enable us to use our resources even better. Johnny has a fantastic track record at A&R, which is down to his exceptional creative abilities, analytical skills and a structured approach to any task.”
