Lil' Wayne sues Cash Money over delayed release of 'Tha Carter V'

Rapper Lil' Wayne filed a lawsuit against the label Cash Money; the artist and the company had been negotiating for quite some time, but eventually no agreement was reached. Wayne and his lawyers asked a judge to end his contract with Cash Money: they say Birdman and the label broke his contract not paying him the money he's owed for the months-delayed album "Tha Carter V".

Wayne claims the label owes him an $8 million advance from when he started recording in December 2013, plus $2 million from when he finished the album.
Moreover he asks for $51 million in damages and joint copyright ownership over all the Young Money imprint recordings (including those of Drake, Nick Minaj, Tyga and others)

Young Money was founded by Wayne in 2005 as a subsidiary imprint of Cash Money.
