Brian Wilson announces new album 'No Pier Pressure'

Brian Wilson (the deus ex machina of The Beach Boys) will be back with a new solo album called "No Pier Pressure". This will be his 11th lp to date - and his first since 2011’s "In the Key of Disney": it's set to be out on April 7 via Capitol Records (the original label of The Beach Boys.

An official press release explains that the new work was originally conceived with The Beach Boys in mind, but "wanting to find the right voices to complete his vision, Wilson saw an opportunity to finally become hip with his kids and recruited some amazing young vocalists who have been inspired by his music".

Among the guests featured in "No Pier Pressure" there are She & Him’s Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, Kacey Musgraves, Capital Cities’ Sebu Simonian, fun.’s Nate Ruess and former Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine, David Marks and Blondie Chaplin. Don Was, Jim Keltner, Kenny Aronoff and Dean Parks appear as session players.

"No Pier Pressure" will be released in standard 13-track and deluxe 16-track editions, but also as a 16-track double vinyl version.
