Spotify to unveil a new look at SXSW, created by NY design firm Collins

Spotify will unveil a brand new look at SXSW 2015 according to Fast Company Design. The visual refresh aims to shift the company’s identity towards being a music brand rather than a tech company.

Spotify is targeting the “visual” generation of millennials which is why it wants to move away from the effective but static white, black and green patterns that have characterised its software design thus far.

The new look took a year to develop and was created by the New York design firm Collins.

The article doesn’t elaborate as to how the new design will impact the current suite of Spotify apps, but it does mention that the company has developed an interesting way to ensure that artist profile photos can become a part of it.

The Spotify House at SXSW will be the perfect backdrop for the unveiling, featuring some of the hottest acts on the planet including Stromae, The Vaccines, Sam Hunt, Ryan Bingham, Run The Jewels, Wale and lots more.
