The National to release vinyl box set with six-hour performance of 'Sorrow'

Back in 2013, the National staged a "durational performance" with the collaboration of Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson: basically they played the song "Sorrow" (from their 2010 album "High Violet") for six hours straight, as part of MoMA PS1's Sunday Sessions.

Now, the band has announced the release of a limited edition 9xLP vinyl box set featuring the whole performance; it's titled "A Lot of Sorrow" and it's due  out June 22 via 4AD.

All proceeds from the box set will be donated to non-profit health care organization Partners In Health. Pre-orders are currently available through the project's website.
