Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL to release new album "The Hit & Run Album"

Prince's new album is ready. The musician is seto release the album called "The Hit & Run Album" - its title referring to his latest tour, is set to be released soon, according to his band 3rdEyeGirl.

The group - who feature Donna Grantis, Ida Nielsen and Hannah Ford Welton - broke the news to BBC 6 Music, saying the following about his upcoming release:

Super-hardcore Prince fans that know every song he’s ever recorded — we refer to them as "The Purple Collective" or "The Purple Army"— this album is absolutely for them because it’s super funky. It’s weird, there’s a lot of experimental sound. It’s just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic "Purple Rain" Prince sound.

3rdEyeGirl added that the tune "Hardrocklover", which emerged online recently, will be the album's first single. The album will feature a new version of “This Could Be Us”, according to Pitchfork.

No release date has been announced yet.
