Dr. Dre: upcoming album will be a 'Straight Outta Compton' soundtrack

According to the words of Ice Cube - who was recently interviewed by Philadelphia radio station Power 99 - rapper Dr. Dre will soon drop a new album inspired by the film "Straight Outta Compton". Despite Cube giving announcing the album set to be out on August 1, multiple sources have told "Rolling Stone" that the release date will be another one - still undisclosed.

Ice Cube described Dr. Dre's first album in 16 years saying:

It’s mega, you know, it’s Dr. Dre, it’s what everybody been waiting for. It’s definitely a dope record, and he’s dropping it all on the same day. It's crazy.

It's unclear whether any of the music destined for Dre's "Straight Outta Compton" soundtrack was originally intended to be featured on "Detox", Dre's indefinitely-postponed follow-up to 1999's "2001".
