Zayn Malik signs to RCA, states he will now be making #realmusic

Zayn Malik has very publicly revealed his newly-signed record deal with RCA, following his departure from One Direction earlier this year.

The singer however does not seem to be handling the transition from 1D too well, eager as he is to let his fans know 'who he really is'. By including the hashtag #realmusic, Malik once again confused and annoyed the band's fans, who frankly are going to constitute 99.9% of the buyers of his first solo output. 

Following the tweet, some fans rightly questioned whether the music they worshipped for the past few years was not #realmusic. Below one of the many negative responses:  

Nevertheless, Malik still has legions of loyal fans who congratulated him on the decision and promised to support him all the way, so the executives at RCA will be breathing a sigh of relief.

The label's PR team though is likely to have a chat with Malik and kindly ask him to stop bashing his former band, to avoid further reducing the number of 1D fans prepared to support his upcoming solo album and potential tour plans.
