Pandora will have no ads for 24 hours to celebrate its 10 years

Pandora, the Internet radio platform offering user generated stations, is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a special day without ads. This means that on September 9 ("Listener Love Day") all users will enjoy their streaming music via Pandora without interruptions and advertisings. The event will be "sponsored" by Pandora One, the subscription tier of Pandora - which, indeed, does not feature adverts.

Tim Westergren, founder of Pandora, stated:

Listener Love Day is a celebration of a decade of connecting music fans to the artists that matter to them. This is a thank you to each and every listener who has tuned in to Pandora over the past 10 years. From the first song Pandora played in 2005 to the 50 billionth thumb we celebrated earlier this year, our mission has remained the same – to provide each of our listeners with the best music experience possible, whether an old favourite or introducing them to a new artist and style of music. Listener Love Day is a celebration of not only our listeners, but a day dedicated to great music.

The company's Q2 2015 financial results were revealed in July and showed a 30% year-on-year revenue increase, but with a net loss of $16.1 million - compared to a net loss of $11.7m at the same point in 2014.
