Chris Cornell will begin working on new Soundgarden tracks after solo tour

Chris Cornell, frontman of grunge titans Soundgarden, speaking with the "Advertiser" unveiled he is planning to work on new music with his band after the solo tour he is nw busy with (he's supporting his latest solo release). Indeed he said:

It’s great to be able to do the Soundgarden stuff and my solo career simultaneously. That’s what makes me lucky as a performer. As soon as this album cycle is over I’m working on Soundgarden songs for an album — I get to do a lot of different things and it feels like I get to have my cake and eat it too.

Soundgarden reunited in 2010 and released a new album in 2012. They have already been in the studio last September, working on new songs and - hopefully - after Cornell wraps his solo tour in May, the band will resume the work on the new album, which, according to guitarist Kim Thayil has a pretty heavy sound:

We got caught up in the commercial world for a quick moment, but we’ve been there and done that. We didn’t necessarily want to be there, we’ve slowed down to a level that we are comfortable with … We don’t write radio hits, you can’t dance to our songs and that’s why we are Soundgarden.
