Coachella festival will soon have an autumn edition

The world famous Coachella Festival, which takes place in Indio (California) during the spring, could soon have an autumn edition - according to the "Desert Sun", which reports that an autumn music festival “is imminent.”

As "Consequence of Sound" notes 2013, Coachella producers Goldenvoice signed an agreement with the city of Indio to keep the festival there through 2030. The agreement also allows Goldenvoice to stage up to five events over the course of the year: since Goldenvoice already puts on two weekends of Coachella and the country-themed Stagecoach Music Festival, that leaves room for two potential fall events.

Indio Mayor Glenn Miller says the city has been working with Goldenvoice on a fall festival and “significant progress” has been made as of late, leading to the feeling that a new event is “imminent”. Another Coachella edition would bring Indio an additional $1.4 million in revenue.

The upcoming spring edition of Coachella will take place on April 15 – 17t and 22 – 24, with a line-up featuring reunited bands Guns N’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem, Underworld, Sia, Ice Cube, Disclosure, ASAP Rocky, and many more.
