UMPG signs Pearl Jam to worldwide deal

Grunge icons Pearl Jam reached an exclusive worldwide publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group, as announcedby Jody Gerson, Chairman and CEO of UMPG - which will represent the band’s entire catalog including newly written material, including Eddie Vedder's solo works.

Pearl Jam have sold over 60 million albums globally and their catalogue includes the massive hit albums "Ten", "Vs.", "Vitalogy", "No Code", "Yield", "Binaural", "Riot Act", "Pearl Jam", "Backspacer" and "Lightning Bolt" - which was released on their own Monkeywrench Records label through UMG worldwide. As a solo artist, lead singer Eddie Vedder has also released two widely acclaimed solo albums, "Into the Wild" and "Ukulele Songs".

Gerson stated:

It’s been almost 25 years since Pearl Jam busted the door open of the ‘club’ that hosts a very exclusive group of artists.  All they have done throughout their career is inspire and influence their fans throughout the world with incredible songs and a multitude of worthy causes.  We are delighted that they have entrusted us with their amazing catalog and couldn’t be more excited to be a part of their evolving career that will endure for decades to come. I'm thrilled to finally have a great partner that I can entrust with the legacy of the Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder catalogs. I'm excited for what lies ahead with UMPG, said Kelly Curtis of Curtis Management, manager for Pearl Jam.

On the heels of their hugely successful 2015 Latin American tour, which had Pearl Jam playing in multiple stadiums and was attended by over a quarter of a million people, the band will tour arenas and stadiums in North America through August including headlining gigs at Bonnaroo and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.
