Google Play Music introduces podcasts support and a new logo

Podcasts are now a key part of many people's daily listening routine, and almost all streaming services have now incorporated them into their offering.

Google is a bit late to the game but Google Play Music has now joined the podcasting party by adding the feature as part of its app.

The update will roll out to Android and web users first, and should be coming to iOS soon.

The company started asking podcasters to submit their shows back in October, so the “store” should be well-stocked. What is potentially cool (and, as always, creepy) about Google is that the company knows so much about you that it could come up with some really decent recommendations as to which shows you might enjoy.

In other news, The Verge reports that the familiar Google Play Music logo featuring a pair of headphones is being swapped out with one featuring a Play button and a double circle containing a musical note.

Google is being coy about this change since it is yet to appear as the official new logo in either the Android or the iOS store. Rockol however was able to confirm its existence by actually firing up the iOS app, since it appears as the new login window.
