The Monkees - the legendary band formed in 1965 following an idea of producer Don Kirshner - will release a new album to celebrate its 50 years of activity, containing songs written by other musicians (between author names there are Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Andy Partridge of XTC, Noel Gallagher, Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie, Neil Diamond, Paul Weller and Carol King).

The album will be called "Good Times" and it represents the band's first studio work in 20 years and the first album after the death of Davy Jones in 2012.

The lead single taken from "Good Times" is called "She Makes Me Laugh" and it was written by Rivers Cuomo. It sounds like a vintage Monkees number, with guitars jingle-jangle and melodies.
