Scorpions hire former Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee for part of their tour

Drummer Mikkey Dee (formerly of the now disbanded of Motörhead) has been hired by German rockers Scorpions as a temporary replacement for a series of dates in the US; their titular drummer James Kottak, indeed, can't make it since he is following a rehab path to fight his alcohol addiction.

Mikkey Dee, therefore, will be one of the Scorpions while Kottak it detoxifies; singer Klaus Meine explained:

"We would like to continue our 'Return To Forever' tour with James, but we have to realize that his health is priority. We wish James a speedy recovery and he will be back to rock you later in the fall! We look forward to seeing all our fans this month.

Mikkey Dee, initially, supposed to play a series of concerts with Thin Lizzy reformed, but he recently renounced giving way to Scott Travis of Judas Priest.
