Bruce Springsteen’s new album “Chapter and verse” to be released on September 23rd

Bruce Springsteen’s already packed 2016 is bound to end up on a very high note when a Q4 double release consisting of a book and an album will see the light. While the former is the long anticipated and much talked about “Born to Run” autobiography, which will be published by Simon & Schuster in the U.S. and is scheduled for worldwide release on September 27th, the latter is a so far unmentioned new album titled “Chapter and verse”, which Sony Music would have tentatively scheduled for worldwide release on September 23rd (aptly, the day of Bruce Springsteen’s 67th  birthday).

The CD is supposed to include 5 or 6 previously unreleased songs. Not much has been revealed about it (early leaks had been originally amplified by the GreasyLake fan forum page during the European leg of The River tour) but by the look of things the new album is supposed to work almost as an audio commentary to the book and in its track selection each song  would go hand in hand with a chapter of the bio.

Unconfirmed news has it that two of the inedited tracks would be a very early demo by a teenage Springsteen and his now mythical May 2, 1972 guitar-and-voice audition at Columbia Records offices in New York City in front of legendary talent scout John Hammond.

More to follow on the subject later.
