Daft Punk are working and they hit the studio with The Weeknd

French electronic duo Daft Punk is famous for its discretion, especially when it comes to future projects and plans. Indeed, after the smash hit album "Random Access Memories" (released in 2013), we've heard very little from the two musicians. But they're still active and working: thry're busy recording and recently hit a studio with R&B crooner The Weeknd.

In a recent "Billboard" interview, indeed,  Republic Records’ executive VP and head of urban A&R Wendy Goldstein let slip the news, saying:

Actually, we have a session coming up in two days … with The Weeknd and Daft Punk. I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan, and this is the first time that I’ve actually been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them.

As "Consequence of Sound" notes, it’s hard to say when the session exactly took place, since we don’t know when the interview was taped; "Billboard" posted it on Wednesday, August 17, and the same day The Weeknd shared this image on Facebook:
