2016 Lovie Awards: Beats By Dre's campaign is among the finalists

The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), the organisation selecting the finalists and winners for the Lovie and Webby Awards, today announced the Finalists in Online Advertising for The 6th Annual Lovie Awards, including Volvo Trucks: Look Who’s Driving (Forsman & Bodenfors), Beats by Dr. Dre: The Game Starts Here (R/GA London) and Samsung: #BeFearless (Cheil Germany). 

A Lovie Agency of the Year Award will be presented to the European agency that performs best across all Lovie Awards categories, which span Websites, Online Advertising, Internet Video, Social Media and Mobile Apps. Leading the group of contenders is Sweden’s Forsman & Bodenfors with an impressive 12 combined Finalists and Shortlisted works, followed by Cheil Germany (11), Paris’ FCINQ (9), DigitasLBi London (10) and 72andSunny Amsterdam (8).

As Virtual Reality moves more into mainstream media and marketing, this year The Lovie Awards added two new categories for branded and non-branded VR work. Finalists in Branded VR include The Power of Swimming (M&C Saatchi Stockholm), Samsung: Bedtime VR Stories (UNIT9 London) and Each drop of Hennessy X.O. is an odyssey VR (DDB Paris).

Some of the most popular branded content, branded entertainment and viral marketing campaigns produced for the European market are among this year’s Finalists, including The Never Ending Story from Louis Vuitton (Publicis 133, Paris), Still The Most Shocking Second A Day (Don’t Panic), Pigeon Air Patrol (DigitasLBi) and Pridestream (N=5, Amsterdam).
