U2 to tour for Joshua Tree 30th anniversary, headline Bonnaroo 2017 and release new album

U2 broke big news with a Christmas message posted online. The Irish rockers, indeed, confirmed that they're planning to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic LP, "The Joshua Tree" (which was released on March 1987). So, there will be a string of “very special shows” commemorating their fifth studio album: the dates themselves have yet to be announced, but sources told "Billboard" that the band will hit US stadiums in the spring ahead of a run of European shows.
"Billboard" specifically reports plans for a pair of dates at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium as well as a headlining performance at Bonnaroo next June.

Also in the video, Bono confirmed that the long-expected "Songs of Innocence" follow-up, "Songs of Experience", will finally be released in 2017.
